At the beginning of the 1990s, Marcelle Ferron began her last decade of creation. After 50 years of career, the artist continues his quest for a pictorial language. Being accustomed to the rich impasto of earlier works, the later works are distinguished by the application of colours in a more delicate manner. The layers are thin without losing their vitality. It continues the gesture and the expression of the line which was present in the works of the 1980s.
The year 1993 also marked the end of her participation as a member of the council of the National Order of Quebec, a position she held for 5 years.
She received the honours of the National Order of Quebec in 1985, then promoted to officer in 2000, Marcelle Ferron was a member of the Council of the Order from 1987 to 1993.
