The painter Marc-Aurèle Fortin has painted famous subjects throughout his career. The first thought of admirers of Fortin while thinking about the artist works is no doubt the country house covers by the giant bright green foliage elm. However, maritime scenes are also present throughout its creation years. Here, in the Port of Montreal work, Fortin leads us to look at the sailboat in the foreground then, our gaze moves away to see a boat set off in on the horizon and on the left the bell tower of the church at the edge from the shore. The arrangement of these three masts pointing to a sky filled with clouds bring balance and serenity to the painting.
