Sunflower I

"In 1972, Mitchell returned to the practice of printmaking, this time creating etchings in collaboration with Arte Adrian Maeght in Paris. The same partners as Jean-Paul Riopelle. These prints put forward one of his favorite motifs, the sunflowers, which grew in his garden in Vétheuil. These etchings reflect the life cycle of the sunflower.
