Yves Robillard describes the works of Jean Lefébure during an exhibition at the end of 1966, held at the Galerie Soixante in Montreal.

This passage is linked in the Press of December 31, 1966. “Its language comes from automatism, but from a simplified automatism which tends to be organized in a geometric way. Lefébure has abandoned impasto, although he attaches importance to the sensuality of the material. His paintings are constructed from flat planes, from a game of shapes with irregular outlines which, however, does not recall anything organic as with Gervais. […] In these paintings, the thick material that he smooths perfectly helps to taste the sensuality of his colors. » -Free translation from French to English.
