In his works, whether figurative or abstract, Brandtner explored a wide variety of subjects. Like many artists, he was irresistibly drawn to Georgian Bay, an iconic Canadian theme. With its rocky islands and windswept trees, Brandtner interprets this landscape in "Georgian Bay," integrating the scenery into his unique style. Through his personal and expressionist approach, he distinguished himself as both a modern artist and a landscape painter, offering a contemporary vision of the Canadian wilderness.

During 1946, Fritz Brantner received the Jessie Dow Prize awarded by the Art Association of Montreal.
