Vieux port de Montréal

The painter Armand Tatossian was born in Egypt in 1948. His grandfather was the curator of the Alexandria Museum of Art and it was the latter who introduced the young Armand to art. His family emigrated to Canada in 1960. The painter pursued artistic training both in Canada and internationally. He became the youngest member of the Royal Canadian Academy in 1973. He later became a professor in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Concordia University. He was inspired by the Group of Seven and preferred to paint en plein air to achieve a more expressive technique.
