Serge Brunoni

In 1938, in Lagny-en-Barrois in France, Serge Brunoni was born. The difficulties of post-war life forced him to leave school and start working in a factory at the age of 14. In his early twenties, he completed his military service in French Equatorial Africa. Upon his return to the metropolis, he felt a need for vast expanses, which prompted him to emigrate to Canada. In 1963, he put his luggage in Trois-Rivières.

Self-taught artist, Serge Brunoni remembers that he always had a penchant for drawing and an appreciation for the richness of colors, even from his earliest childhood. His first creations were born in 1970, and he inaugurated his first personal exhibition in 1976. Since then, he has presented several exhibitions in various galleries in Quebec, Ontario and France. His singular European touch exerted a notable influence on many young artists.

His death occurs at the beginning of 2020, after a career of almost 50 years.
