Claude Le Sauteur

The canadian painter, Claude Le Sauteur was born October 7, 1926 at Pentecost River in Quebec. From 1945 to 1950, he studied at the School of Fine Arts in Quebec City under the direction of Jean-Paul Lemieux, Jean Dallaire and Omer Parent. From 1950 to 1980, he worked as a freelancer in the field of advertising. In 1966 he joined Cabana Seguin, a major advertising agency. This job allowed him to lay the foundations of the style ''Le Sauteur", which was eventually associated with the Just for Laughs festival, in the 80s.
In 1986, he settled in the region of Charlevoix, a place in which he had a lot of love for.
Involved in the social scene, he participated in various auctions, his serigraphs were publicized, and he participated in many activities, in order to support social and cultural development in his region. Hi support and activities, among others, financed the St-Gilles Stationery, the Historical Society, the Regional Museum and the Hospitals Foundation of Charlevoix.

In 2005, Éditions de l'Homme published a book devoted to the life and work of Claude Le Sauteur and, in 2006, the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec unveiled and exhibited in its large hall a work that he had painted on a vintage car. Claude Le Sauteur has been a member of the Order of Canada since 2000. Source: https://www.ordre-national.gouv.qc.ca/membres/membre.asp?id=1437
