Jacques Huet
(1932 - 2009)
Quebec Sculptor
Jacques Huet is a sculptor who will practice several mediums throughout his life. Self-taught, he was forced to experiment with all types of sculptures and forma in order to exploit the different varieties of mediums and matter. For many years, he explored the material while trying to reduce the gestures and movements of execution.
“My production is a living outpouring of freedom of expression. Sculpture is spontaneity.”
During his career, he was surrounded by great master sculptors and painters such as Daudelin, Vaillancourt and Roussil. He then attended and participated in several exhibitions from 1960 to 1970 where he received the prize of the Quebec Art Competition and several other prizes throughout his career. Today, his works are part of the collections of the various Museums across Quebec and are thus found in several private collections in Canada and the United States.
