Alfred Worsley Holdstock

Alfred Worsley Holdstock is born in Bath, England in 1820 and died in United Kingdom in 1901. He studied at Oxford and arrived in Montreal in 1850. He taught drawing there around 1852 to 1973. He illustrates in watercolor and pastel the landscapes of the Ottawa Valley, the Thousand Islands, and the Red River. Like Cornelius D. Krieghoff, he testifies to the indigenous daily life of the time.
