Rita Mount

Rita Mount is a Canadian artist born in Montreal in 1888. She learns drawing from her cousin, the painter Georges Delfosse. She continues with painting classes given outdoors by the artist Maurice Cullen of the Art Association of Montreal. She gets a scholarship to continue at this school for two consecutive years. In 1910, she left for Europe and perfect her training at the international circle of fine arts of the Delécluze Academy.
She will exhibit very quickly in her career at the Salons of the Art Association of Montreal and at the Academy of Arts of Canada.
She became a member of the Royal Canadian Academy in 1939.
Rita Mount died in Montreal in 1967.
